Selvino Padilla Jr. has served the Rio Grande Valley community for four decades and has become a fixture in the region through his passion to serve the community and advocating for people who have suffered an injury to obtain their legal remedy. Selvino graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and was admitted into the State Bar of Texas in 1980 and into the State Bar of California in 1982. Upon moving to Texas in 1980 after earning his JD, Selvino began working for Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid where he provided quality legal assistance to low-income Texans for approximately 10 years. In 1990, he opened the Law Office of Selvino Padilla and focused on bankruptcy and personal injury before transitioning primarily to personal injury around 2000. In 2017, he incorporated the firm as Padilla Law Firm, PLLC. Selvino has previously been admitted to practice in the Texas Western District Court, Texas Northern District Court, Texas Southern District/Bankruptcy Court, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Before law school, Selvino earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California Los Angeles. He has four children, two of whom are practicing attorneys.

 

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Selvino. In mourning, we can find comfort in the legacy and accomplishments he left behind. Padilla Law Firm is dedicated to keeping his memory alive, and we promise to uphold ourselves to the same standards he set for us.

CELESTE PADILLA

Celeste Padilla has been dedicated to the Rio Grande Valley community her whole life. Born and raised in the region, she has worked in the family firm during summers and winters, when not in school, for as long as she was old enough to work. During this time, she worked in every area of the business from answering phones and clerical work to research and more. Working at the family firm fostered a love of the law for Celeste and in 2012 she graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon graduating from law school, Celeste moved back to her roots in the Rio Grande Valley to serve the community she loves. She was admitted into the State Bar of Texas in May 2013 and joined the firm she grew up working in all those years, only this time as an attorney. Before law school, Celeste earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas—Pan American in Edinburg, Texas.

SELINA PADILLA

Selina Padilla has always known the attorney life, as she comes from a family of attorneys. Her passion for law sparked from an early age and she dreamt of one day becoming an attorney as well. From the moment she old enough to work, she was helping out at her family firm when not in school. During this time, and as the years progressed, she played every role in the business from making coffee and copies to providing vital legal research. She also has a passion for disenfranchised and low-income members of her community. Selina graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2018. While in law school, Selina interned for the non-profit organization, Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid. She was recognized by St. Mary’s University School of Law for her exemplary Pro Bono and community service work. Upon admittance to the State Bar of Texas in 2018, Selina joined the family firm as an attorney. Prior to law school, Selina earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas—San Antonio.
